The musical Here Lies Love, featuring music by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, is coming to Broadway this summer. The production will be staged at the Broadway Theatre in New York City with performances set to open in June.
Described as an “immersive disco pop musical based on the rise and fall of Imelda Marcos and the People Power Revolution of the Philippines,” Here Lies Love made its world premiere at New York City’s The Public Theater in 2013. The initial off-Broadway run was followed by a return to The Public in 2014 as well as productions at London’s Royal National Theatre in 2014, and most recently at Seattle Repertory Theatre in 2017.
The Broadway production of Here Lies Love will be directed by Alex Timbers and choreographed by Annie-B Parson. The staging at the Broadway Theatre will resemble a nightclub with a range of seating and standing options allowing for interaction with the actors.
Performances will commence on Saturday, June 17 prior official opening night on Thursday, July 20. Tickets will be available at a later date. Visit the official website for details.
