Kevin Morby Performs ‘This Is A Photograph’ Songs Live At KEXP

Kevin Morby recently swung by the studios of Seattle-based independent radio station KEXP for a live session. The singer-songwriter led his touring band through four songs from his latest album, This Is A Photograph, which was released last May via Dead Oceans.

Morby, bassist Liam Cunningham, percussionist Elizabeth Moen, drummer Stephen Patterson, guitarist Cyrus Gengras, keyboardist Dave Sherman, multi-instrumentalist Cochemea “Cheme” Gastelum and violinist Oliver Hill opened with the title track from This Is A Photograph. The ensemble then performed “Rock Bottom” and “Bittersweet, TN” before ending the set with “Five Easy Pieces.”

The Kansas City native spoke with host Cheryl Waters after the final song. Morby and Waters discussed Kevin’s time on the road, the making of This Is A Photograph, a period the singer-songwriter spent in Tennessee and more.
