Lightning in a Bottle will celebrate 20 years of inspiring creativity and fostering interconnection over Memorial Day Weekend, May 24th–29th, 2023, at Buena Vista Lake in Southern California with a diverse lineup of electronic artists including Diplo, 070 Shake, SOFI TUKKER, ZHU, Phantogram, Tobe Nwigwe, Sampa the Great, REZZ, and TOKiMONSTA.
Presented by Do LaB, Lightning in a Bottle will feature creative art and immersive environments, educational classes and workshops, and music on multiple stages. The Lightning Stage will host performances by Caribou, Beats Antique, Mindchatter, Drama, and Ozomatli with Chali 2na and Cut Chemist in addition to festival headliners.
The Thunder Stage will feature sets by Liquid Stranger, LSDream, Deathpact, The Glitch Mob, TOKiMONSTA, LTJ Bukem with MC Armanni, and Prospa, as well as artists from the next generation like Moore Kismet, Wreckno, and UNIIQU3, plus 11-piece techno marching band MEUTE, beatsmith The Polish Ambassador, comedic electronic duo The Floozies, and rising South African producer Jon Casey.
The Woogie Stage will showcase house and techno artists including Tale Of Us, Diplo, and Purple Disco Machine, BLOND:ISH, Stephan Bodzin, LP Giobbi, Logic1000, TSHA, and Layla Benitez, Ben Böhmer, Giorgia Anjiuli, Cassian, Major League DJz, Sabo & Goldcap, AMÉMÉ, and a slew of newer artists including Rinzen, Desiree, Nala, Deer Jade b2b Elif, and Mary Droppinz.
There will also be a new Grand Artique stage this year, which will offer a unique environment combining wild west aesthetics, unconventional activity programming, and eclectic live acts with an Americano twist.
The five-day festival will kick off with interactive yoga and movement classes on Wednesday, with music beginning on the newly redesigned Woogie Stage on Thursday afternoon along with talks and workshops at the Compass and Learning Kitchen. LSDream will also help get things started with a performance under his project Lightcode.
Returning to the festival this year are Random Rab, El Papachango, Dimond Saints, David Starfire, and William Close & The Earth Harp Experience. Attendees can also expect the return of the iconic ’80s Prom.
Other entertainment options will include the interactive townscape of Bark Kitten, the Jive Joint, Unicorn Palace, The Mixtape, the Rink-a-Dink Roller Rink, Big Leroy’s Karaoke, and more.
