Panic! At The Disco bandleader Brendon Urie announced that the band’s upcoming tour of Europe and the U.K. will be its last, closing the books on a nearly 20-year career.
“Well, it’s been a hell of a journey… Growing up in Vegas I could’ve never imagined where this life would take me. So many places all over the world, and all the friends we’ve made along the way,” Urie wrote on the band’s social media. “Sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin.”
Urie’s next journey is the birth of his first child, with the singer noting, “The prospect of being a father and getting to watch my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting. I look forward to this next adventure.”
“That said, I am going to bring this chapter of my life to an end and put my focus and energy on my family, and with that Panic! At The Disco will be no more,” he continued.
“Thank you all for your immense support over the years,” Urie concluded. “I’ve sat here trying to come up with the perfect way to say this and I truly can’t put into words how much it has meant to us. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just finding us, it has been a pleasure to not only share the stage with so many talented people but also share our time with you. I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Europe and the UK for one last run together.

Panic! At The Disco formed in the Las Vegas suburbs in 2004 when Urie connected with singer/guitarist Ryan Ross, drummer Spencer Smith, and bassist Brent Wilson. The group immediately caught fire with the release of its 2005 debut A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, launched to #13 on the Billboard Hot 200 with help from the hit single “I Write Sins Not Tragedies”.
Shortly after the release of A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, Wilson announced his departure from the band. This would become a running theme for Panic! At The Disco through the next decade, as Ross and Jon Walker (Wilson’s replacement) left the band following its sophomore album, Pretty. Odd.
The group existed as a trio comprised of Urie, Smith, and multi-instrumentalist Dallon Weekes through its third and fourth albums, 2011’s Vices and Virtues and 2013’s Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! By the release of 2016’s Death of a Bachelor, Panic! At The Disco had essentially become Urie’s solo project. The band maintained relevancy with singles “Hallelujah” and “High Hopes” off 2018’s Pray for the Wicked and last August released what will prove its final album, Viva Las Vengance.
Panic! At The Disco’s final tour begins on February 20th in Vienna, Austria, with the band’s last concert scheduled for March 10th in Manchester, UK. For tickets and a full list of dates click here.
