Third Man Records Details 20th Anniversary Edition Of White Stripes Album ‘Elephant’

Third Man Records announced a 20th anniversary edition of The White Stripes’ landmark 2003 album, Elephant. Elephant XX arrives as part of Third Man’s Vault Package #55 with the deadline to sign up for the installment set for 12 a.m. CT on January 31.

Elephant XX includes a mono mix of the album delivered on red and white LPs. Jack White and Bill Skibbe mixed the reissue at Third Man Studio in Nashville. The pair utilized the same Calrec board used to complete the original stereo mix of Elephant at London’s Toe Rag Studios in 2002. The mono mix includes an extended version of “Seven Nation Army,” studio banter, lost lyrics and more.

The collection also contains a 7-inch disc on ​​glitter red vinyl with two mixes of Jack White’s solo demo of “Hypnotize” as well as the first take of “You’ve Got Her In Your Pocket,” which appears to have been captured as a mic check. Additionally, Elephant XX includes the Elephant Era Video Artifacts DVD with live and studio footage, interviews, an ​​8mm behind-the-scenes film capture from the iconic “The Hardest Button To Button” music video shoot and more. A 28-page booklet with previously unshared photos, handwritten lyrics, concert posters and more ties the collection together.
