A new book, Touring And Mental Health: The Music Industry Manual, will be published by Omnibus Press on March 23. The 640-page book edited by Tamsin Embleton features contributions from Nile Rodgers (Chic), Justin Hawkins (The Darkness), Philip Selway (Radiohead), Kieran Hebden (Four Tet), Lauren Mayberry (CHVRCHES), Taylor Hanson (Hanson), Pharoahe Monch and more.

Embleton, an attachment-based psychotherapist, spent a decade working as a promoter, tour manager and artist manager. She is the director of the Music Industry Therapists Collective (MITC).

The book covers topics such as mental health, addiction, performance anxiety, group dynamics, relationship problems, post-tour recovery and other aspects of being a touring musician. Touring And Mental Health was “designed to be picked up, put down, read at length and passed around the tour bus.”

Additional musicians and touring personnel who provided personal recollections included Jake Berry, Tina Farris, Charles Thompson, Katie Melua, Trevor Williams, Jim Digby, Will Young, Angie Warner, Dale “Opie” Skjerseth and many more.
