Experimental multi-genre guitarist and composer Ari Joshua new single, “Meeting of The Minds P4” debuts exclusively via JamBase. The song featuring keyboardist John Medeski, drummer Billy Martin and bassist John Fraticelli (Cyro Baptista, Matisyahu), serves as part of the title track to Joshua’s forthcoming studio album that will be released tomorrow, Thursday, February 9 on Music Factory Records.
“The inspiration and creative process for this album evolved as it was happening,” Ari Joshua stated. “I composed a fresh set of 20 new songs one week before the recording date, which is something I tend to do, but while we were together in the room, we found a lot of joy through improvising and being present in the moment. There was even a phrase flying around the room at the time, ‘You gotta let that dove fly.’ In other words, settle in with the imperfections of the art, and embrace the fact that as long as you are honest and raw, you will discover something more amazing than you had planned.”
Meeting Of The Minds is a collection of 27 segments that document the first notes the group ever played together. The album was recorded at Applehead Recording in Woodstock, New York, and the title was conceived by the album art of visual artist Burgundy Viscosi.
“I strive to create visions that help awaken humanity to our collective consciousness through color, intention and play,” Viscosi added.
