Dirty Heads shared a new single/video, “Rescue Me,” an ode to the band’s home state of California. The track is set to land on Dirty Heads’ upcoming EP, Midnight Control Sessions: Night 2, set for release on April 14 via Better Noise Music.

Midnight Control Sessions: Night 2 boasts unreleased songs, remixes and special guests. The record is the first of three EPs Dirty Heads plan to drop in 2023 documenting the sessions for the band’s 2022 album Midnight Control.

Previewing Midnight Control Sessions: Night 2 is “Rescue Me.” Dirty Heads frontman Jared Watson detailed the new track:

“Rescue me is our ode to California and we thought it would be rad to flip a Red Hot Chili Peppers hook. Not only did they influence us but they are one of the most influential and defining bands ever to come out of Cali. So it was a no brainer. It just felt right. This song is about the spirit of California and the influence she’s had on us as human beings. The beach, the desert, and the mountains, all available within the same day, waiting with open arms to feed your soul.”

“Rescue Me” arrived with a music video co-directed by Watson and Jay Teegardin. Watch below:
