Neutral Milk Hotel released alternate takes of “You’ve Passed” and “Where You’ll Find Me Now.” The early versions of the On Avery Island tracks are included in The Collected Works of Neutral Milk Hotel, set for release on February 24 via Merge.
1996’s On Avery Island is Neutral Milk Hotel’s debut full-length album. The demos of “You’ve Passed” and “Where You’ll Find Me Now” arrived along with the streaming edition of the remixed and expanded EP, Everything Is, originally arriving as a 7-inch in 1993. Everything Is is presented in The Collected Works of Neutral Milk Hotel in NMH mastermind Jeff Mangum’s originally intended 10-inch format.
The box set, previously self-released in limited numbers through Neutral Milk Hotel Records in 2011, assembles Neutral Milk Hotel’s recorded output. Merge expanded The Collected Works of Neutral Milk Hotel with additional material including previously unreleased live recording and more.
