Willie Nelson, The White Stripes and the late Warren Zevon are among the 2023 nominees for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Other nominees include Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, George Michael, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, The Spinners and A Tribe Called Quest.
This year’s class features eight first-time nominees, including Nelson, Zevon and The White Stripes, as well as Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper and George Michael. The White Stripes and Missy Elliot are in their first year of eligibility. To be eligible for nomination, artists or bands must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the nomination year.
“This remarkable list of Nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame honors and celebrates,” said John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Foundation. “These artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps.”
Ballots for voting on the 2023 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame nominees will be issued to a global consortium of +1,000 artists, historians and music industry members. The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Fan Vote is open through April 28, with the top five vote getters comprising the “fans’ ballot” that will be counted as part of the induction selection process. Fan voting is available online at the Rock Hall website and at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame museum in Cleveland.
Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 2023 Inductees will be named in May. The 2023 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held in the fall at yet-to-be announced date and location.
