Bill Kreutzmann took to social media to hint at a Billy & The Kids show in New Orleans. The Dead & Company/Grateful Dead drummer’s bandmates in the project — bassist Reed Mathis, keyboardist Aron Magner and guitarist Tom Hamilton — each shared similar clips on Billy & The Kids’ social feeds on Sunday night. Saxophonist James Casey also posted a NOLA-themed video.

Each video features audio of Billy & The Kids’ March Madness-winning cover of Bob Dylan’s “Tangled Up In Blue” focusing on the lyric “So I drifted down to New Orleans.” Kreutzmann’s clip was filmed at his home on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. The drummer is seen trying to hitch a ride to the Big Easy with a bumper reading “4.27 Seconds Later” potentially hinting at a date for the concert.

Billy & The Kids last took the stage for a two-night “Dead On The Rocks” run at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre in July of 2021 featuring guitarist Billy Strings. Earlier in the year, the ensemble gathered on Kauai to film the “Grateful Mahalo: Billy Kreutzmann’s 75th Birthday Pa’ina” livestream specials.

Dead & Company will play Jazz Fest in New Orleans on May 6. Stay tuned for details of what Billy & The Kids have in store.
