After taking a hiatus to regroup and refocus, The JamBase Podcast, a partner of the Osiris Media Network, is set to return. A new season officially launches next week, Thursday, March 16.
Hosts Scott Bernstein, Andy Kahn and Nate Todd are back for another season bringing you the premiere live music podcast. So what can you expect to hear on the JamBase Podcast in the coming weeks and months?
You’ll still hear the same insightful interviews with the top musicians from the jam scene and beyond. But we’re getting back to our roots so to speak and relaunching our recurring interview themes like “The Art Of The Setlist” — deep dives into how musicians plan out their shows, or “Musical Mentors” — where we examine the people that have had an important influence on artists’ careers.
There’s also “Quit My Day Job” — where we talk with musicians about the circumstances surrounding their decision to become full-time professional performers and “Tour Stories”– where artists pull back the curtain and share tales of life on the road. We have some other new themes cooking and we’ll be bringing some other familiar ones as well that we’re all super excited about.
Along with musician interviews, we’re also going to be looking behind the scenes and talking to people with a variety of roles in the concert industry to give you an inside perspective on what it takes to make great live music.
We’ll be producing and publishing JamBase Podcasts on a weekly basis, with regularly scheduled season breaks. Within each season we hope to augment those interviews with multi-episode series, one-off special episodes and other fun ways to examine the world of live music.
As a preview of the upcoming season of The JamBase Podcast, this teaser episode features clips from recent interviews conducted with Oteil Burbridge of Dead & Company and Cory Wong and Joe Dart of Vulfpeck/The Fearless Flyers. Hear Burbridge’s thoughts on the upcoming final Dead & Co. tour, and listen to Dart detail his feelings about the prospects of more frequent Vulfpeck performances.
