Lotus Percussionist Chuck Morris & Son Missing After Kayaking Trip

Lotus percussionist Chuck Morris and his son Charley Morris were reported missing after kayaking on Beaver Lake near Fayetteville, Arkansas. The two have not been seen since Thursday, March 16.

According to the local ABC affiliate, severe weather, including sub-freezing temperatures, temporarily halted search efforts the night the pair went missing. The search for the missing the 47-year-old Chuck Morris and 20-year-old Charley Morris resumed the next day and continued over the weekend.

“We’ve got Benton County Sheriff’s Office, we’ve got our dive team, our search and rescue teams,” said Benton County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lt. Shannon Jenkins.

Jenkins confirmed a kayak and jacket were found on Beaver Lake on Thursday, March 16 and a second kayak was recovered on Friday, March 17.

“We have no new information at the moment,” read a post shared Saturday, March 18 on Lotus’ Facebook page. “A friend of the family has started a GoFundMe drive to provide financial support to Chuck’s immediate family.”

As noted by the band, a GoFundMe campaign was established to support the Morris family.
