Margo Price Recruits Sierra Ferrell For Spellbinding ‘Change Of Heart’ Remake

Margo Price had a change of heart of sorts and teamed up with Sierra Ferrell to record a new acoustic version of Price’s song “Change Of Heart.” The track originally came out on Price’s acclaimed 2023 album, Strays.

The new recording marks the first collaboration between the pair of Nashville residents. The collab was packaged as a three-song EP alongside two other Strays cuts featuring special guests, “Radio” featuring Sharon Van Etten and “Anytime You Call” featuring Lucius.

Price shared her feelings about working with Ferrell, stating:

“I’m real excited to share this stripped-down take on ‘Change of Heart’ featuring Sierra Ferrell. Sierra is one of my favorite new voices in music and I loved getting to work with her on this acoustic version of the song. I love to lift up other women in the genre when I see somebody putting out great art. In an industry that tries to drive us apart, it’s freeing to break down those barriers and say, ‘there is room for everyone.’
“Thanks also to the co-writer of the song, my husband, Jeremy Ivey on acoustic guitar and the talented Billy Contreras on the fiddle.”

Price will deliver a keynote conversation regarding Strays and her memoir Maybe We’ll Make It at SXSW in Austin, Texas on Friday, March 17. While in Austin, Price will also record a performance for Season 49 of Austin City City Limits on Sunday, March 19.
