Supergroup Super Sonic Shorties have joined the now-finalized 2023 Northlands Music and Arts Festival 2023 lineup. The second annual installment of the two-day event will take place at Cheshire Fairgrounds in Swanzey, New Hampshire on June 16 and 17.
Super Sonic Shorties consist of drummer Nikki Glaspie (The Nth Power), saxophonist Katty Rodriguez (Beyoncé), bassist Tonya Sweets (Lizzo), trumpeter Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band), guitarist Ella Feingold (Silk Sonic), keyboardist Amy Bellamy (G. Love), percussionist Marcie Chapa (Beyoncé) and vocalist Kanika Moore (Doom Flamingo). A portion of proceeds from Northlands tickets sold now through Wednesday, March 15 will go towards FEMME HOUSE to celebrate the Super Sonic Shorties announcement and to commemorate Women’s History Month. Non-profit organization FEMME HOUSE is a non-profit organization devoted to fostering more equitable opportunities in the music industry for women and gender-expansive individuals.
“I’m excited to be a part of a festival that recognizes the importance of empowering women at every level of our organization, not just ownership,” noted Northlands co-owner Jen Meyerhardt. “It creates an incredible atmosphere and we’re thrilled to have Super Sonic Shorties add to that experience.”
Previously confirmed artists include The String Cheese Incident, Mike Gordon, Twiddle, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and Orebolo, among many others. Tickets for the festival are on sale now. Buy Northlands 2023 tickets via The Ticketing Co.
