The White Stripes, who are currently nominated for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, shared a live recording of “The Hardest Button To Button,” from a concert held in Chicago on July 2, 2003. The track will be included in the upcoming 20th anniversary reissue of the band’s 2003 album, Elephant, which comes out March 31 through Third Man Records.
The Elephant deluxe reissue features remastered HD audio of the original 14-song album, which opened with the massive hit, “Seven Nation Army.” The expanded album also includes The White Stripes’ 27-song set from the second of two shows held at the Aragon Ballroom that were part of their tour in support of Elephant. The concert’s setlist contained six songs off Elephant alongside other originals and covers of songs by Bob Dylan, Captain Beefheart, Robert Johnson and others.
“The Hardest Button To Button” was released as the third Elephant single. The song appeared on an episode of The Simpsons that guest starred Jack White and Meg White as animated characters.
