Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s 2023 International Tour rolled into Boston last night for a concert at TD Garden. The Boss kicked off his extended encore by breaking out a cover of The Standells’ ode to the city, “Dirty Water.”

Originally released by the garage-rock band in 1965, “Dirty Water” features a chorus of “I love that dirty water/Oh, Boston you’re my home.” Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band last trotted out the song on August 14, 2012 at Boston’s Fenway Park.

Fans sang along as The Boss and his crew made their way through “Dirty Water.” Springsteen then dedicated the beloved “Thunder Road” to the employees at Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The rest of Monday’s setlist followed a similar path as other stops on the run.
