The highly-anticipated John Wick: Chapter 4 is already being lauded as “glorious,” epic” and “badass” by critics ahead of its release later this month, and star Keanu Reeves is adding to the hype by sharing a 60-second video recap of the ultra-violent film franchise.
Reeves summarizes the first three movies in case fans needed a primer before John Wick: Chapter 4, which co-stars Bill Skarsgard, Laurence Fishburne, Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada and more. The 60-second clip, shared on the movie’s Twitter page, sees Reeves explaining the events of everyone’s favorite assassin franchise so far.
Reeves begins by breaking down the plot of the first film: “Gangster steals a former hitman’s car and kills his puppy.” He pauses to say, “My late wife gave me a dog to help me get through the day,” then continues, “He takes down half of the Russian mafia and picks a new dog along the way.”
Next, Reeves discusses the events of Chapter 2 and exclaims that he is “fighting for [his] life,” before getting to Chapter 3, “To save The Continental, Winston fakes John’s death…” Reeves wraps things up by adding, “John is rescued by the outcast Bowery King and together they vow revenge on the High Table. Now you’re ready for John Wick: Chapter 4.”
