Bob Weir & Wolf Bros completed a guest-filled, five-night trio run at The Guild Theatre in Menlo Park, CA over the weekend, welcoming special guests J.D. Souther, Molly Tuttle, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, Steve Kimock, and more.

After kicking off the run on Monday with a live songwriting experiment with help from J.D. Souther, Weir returned on Tuesday and repeated the experiment, once again welcoming J.D. Souther as well as fiddle player Mads Tolling, who would return on the final night of the run. Wednesday featured the most special guests, with Molly Tuttle, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, Souther, and fiddle player Ketch Secor all lending their voices throughout the night.

With a focus on songwriting dominating the first few shows, the band changed gears slightly on Friday and Saturday, welcoming guitarist Steve Kimock along with Mads Tolling or the instrumental peak of the run. Brian Switzer also joined the group on horns on Friday as Weir and Wolf Bros navigated a setlist loaded with Grateful Dead staples and few surprises. Bob Dylan covers were ubiquitous through all of the shows, with “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” bringing the run to close on Saturday night.
