Foo Fighters’ Chris Shiflett Honors Late Friends On ‘Dead & Gone’ Single

Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett shared a new single, “Dead & Gone,” a country-tinged homage to fallen friends from his hometown. The track is set for Shiflett’s yet-to-be-named album due out sometime in 2023 via Blue Élan Records.

Shiflett previously released the album single “Black Top White Lines” in February. Chris enlisted Jaren Johnston to produce the LP.

“A big part of my inspiration to work with Jaren on this record was because I knew he’d push me out of my comfort zone into new territory,” Shiflett said of working with Johnston.

The Santa Barbara, California-born musician now follows “Black Top White Lines” with “Dead & Gone,” which he detailed.

“My hometown was an odd mix of luxury paradise and working-class grit and continues to be a bottomless pit of lyrical inspiration,” Shiflett said. “Sad to say there’s been more than a few friends who’ve left us too soon, so there are lots of stories there…kind of a lost generation.”
