Purple Party made its debut at Jazz Fest in 2018 and went on to host acclaimed performances with various all-star lineups at Brooklyn Comes Alive and Denver’s The Big Melt. The Prince celebration made its way back to New Orleans in 2019 and, after two pandemic-prompted years away, returned once again in 2022. The Jazz Fest editions of Purple Party, in particular, have been known to turn into some of the most memorable performances of the Fest season. Falling in the late-night hours on the final day of the final weekend of the marathon two-weekend stretch, Purple Party regularly attracts talented players from around town for one final go-around.
