SiriusXM Phish Radio will live broadcast the Phish’s three upcoming shows at The Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California. The concerts take place next Monday, April 17 through Wednesday, April 19.
The three Greek shows are slated to start at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET. In addition to airing the three Greek shows live, SiriusXM Phish Radio will premiere a recording of each of the shows on Phish’s Spring Tour 2023 the following day at 12 p.m. ET.
Speaking recently with Phish Radio’s Ari Fink, Anastasio talked about his affection for the Greek, stating:
“The Greek is as good a venue as exists in this country. The Greek is, it’s the best. People ask me what my favorite venue is and you know, ‘What is it Red Rocks? Is it the Gorge? Is it MSG?’ All of those. Yes. But I have a special place in my heart for the Greek…
“Because of the way the audience is situated, I can see everyone’s faces. Oh God, I love playing there. Love it.
“We did a Ghosts Of The Forest show there with Khruangbin, which was a great night. [At] certain venues, I’m looking into a black void. I like being able to see people. I can see everyone, not [just] the people in the front row. At The Greek Theatre in Berkeley, I can see the people in the last row better than the people in the front row.
“And that is not an exaggeration. It’s a relatively high stage. I can see the front row if I look down there, but when I look straight, I’m looking at the top row of the bowl and it’s close enough that I can see smiles and dancing. And it’s really, really fun to play when you can connect with the whole venue. So I love the Greek Theatre. Love.”
