The Sweet Lillies Share Soul-Searching Single ‘18 Wheels’

Colorado’s The Sweet Lillies released a new single, “18 Wheels.” The track is set for the string band’s forthcoming album, Equality, due out on June 2 via Americana Vibes.

The Infamous Stringdusters banjoist Chris Pandolfi produced and contributed to Equality, which also sees guest spots from The String Cheese Incident’s Kyle Hollingsworth and Jason Hann. The Sweet Lillies — bassist Julie Gussaroff, violist Becca Bisque, guitarist Dustin Rohleder and drummer/percussionist Jones Maynard — heralded Equality in March with the single, “Words”

The quartet now follows with “18 Wheels,” featuring lead vocals from Rohleder, who detailed the track.

“The song 18 wheels is a metaphor that uses the concept of a tractor-trailer driver to describe the experience of being a lone wolf in search of your life,” he said. “It is a diesel-soaked narrative of a man reaching further than he has ever reached before to find his inner self.”
