Thundercat & Tame Impala Join Forces For New Song ‘No More Lies’

27

Thundercat shared a new single, “No More Lies,” which features Tame Impala. The standalone release is the first new Thundercat song to come out in three years.

The collaborative single is the first time Thundercat (bassist Stephen Bruner) recorded with Tame Impala (multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker).

“I’ve wanted to work with Kevin since the very first Tame Impala album,” stated Thundercat. “I feel that I knew that us working together would be special. I’ve been excited about this song for a long time and hope to create more with Kevin in the future.”

Thundercat, who is coming off appearances with Gorillaz at both weekends of Coachella, previously crossed paths with Tame Impala at a Gorillaz concert in Los Angeles last September (both appeared on Gorillaz’s 2023 album, Cracker Island). Thundercat and Tame Impala also separately contributed to last year’s Minions: The Rise of Gru soundtrack.

Parker recently underwent surgery for a fractured hip. While there are currently no scheduled Tame Impala tour dates, Thundercat has a busy tour schedule, including shows with Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Strokes.
