Timotheé Chalamet will do his own singing as Bob Dylan in a forthcoming biopic that has yet to be named. The film’s director James Mangold revealed his star will sing Dylan in an interview with Collider during Star Wars Celebration Europe in London.
A talented young actor, Chalamet has had plenty of singing practice as he’s prepped for his starring role in the latest Charlie And The Chocolate Factory offshoot Wonka, due out in December. As far as the Dylan flick goes, Mangold also revealed in London that filming will start in August.
Additionally, Mangold noted that the Bob biopic follows a young Dylan as he moves to New York City and becomes a star. He also said that key figures in Bob’s early life like Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger and Joan Baez will be portrayed in the film although actors have yet to be revealed. When asked if Chalamet would sing Dylan, Mangold replied “Of course!”
