Twiddle continued the Distance Makes The Heart Tour, the band’s final outing before the start of an indefinite hiatus, with stops in New Haven, CT and Boston, MA on Friday and Saturday featuring support from One Time Weekend.
Mihali Savoulidis, Ryan Dempsey, Zdenek Gubb, and Adrian Tramontano kicked off the weekend at New Haven’s College Street Music Hall. After opening the first set with two tracks off 2017’s Plump (Chapters 1 & 2), the band brought it back with fan favorites “Apples” and “Mamunes The Faun”, which featured a sit-in from special guest Scott Hannay, who plays in Mihali’s live solo band, on keys.
More special guests would arrive during set two, including West End Blend trumpeter Mike Bafundo, who collaborated with Twiddle last summer and again during the band’s Frendsgiving celebration in November, returning on Friday to lend his voice on “Breakadidown”, and Adrian Tramontano’s Kung Fu bandmate Chris DeAngelis, who sat in on “Latin Tang”. Twiddle capped the night off with a “Frends Theme” encore.
Twiddle then headed to Boston on Saturday for a show at Bean Town’s House of Blues. Mike Bafundo made the trip with the group, apparently, once again joining the band for a cover of Talking Heads‘ “Girlfriend is Better”, a trio of tunes also featuring Brian Thomas on trombone—”Polluted Beauty” at the end of the set one and “Lost in the Cold” and “Orlando’s” at the start of set two—and “Every Last Leaf II”, the title track from Twiddle’s most recent release and the final song of the night.

Twiddle’s Distance Makes The Heart Tour continues tonight, Sunday, April 2nd in Ithaca, NY, followed by shows in NYC, Baltimore, and Harrisburg, PA.
