Watch Bob Marley & The Wailers’ ‘Easy Skankin’ In Boston 1978′ Concert Film On YouTube

On June 8, 1978 reggae icons Bob Marley & The Wailers brought their Kaya Tour to what was then the Boston Music Hall and is now The Wang Theatre in Boston. Footage captured with a hand-held camera by a fan sitting at the front of the stage was released in 2015 along with official audio as Easy Skankin’ In Boston 1978. Each of the seven tracks from the Easy Skankin’ In Boston 1978 concert film has been uploaded to the Bob Marley channel on YouTube for free viewing.

One song featured in Easy Skankin’ In Boston 1978 has been shared on a daily basis starting last Friday, April 14 and continuing through Thursday, April 20 at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT. The cinematographer who shot the footage did so with Bob Marley’s full blessing. Gaps in the recording due to the new to change rolls of film have been filled by animated video elements.

Easy Skankin’ In Boston 1978 begins with “Rebel Music (3 O’Clock Roadblock)” off 1974’s Natty Dread. Marley & The Wailers then look to 1973’s Burnin’ for “I Shot The Sheriff” before returning to Natty Dread via “No Woman, No Cry” and “Lively Up Yourself.” Next comes “Jamming” from the year-old at the time Exodus album along with the album’s title track split by “War/No More Trouble,” the film’s lone Kaya cut.

The Bob Marley & The Wailers’ lineup at Boston Music Hall on June 8, 1978 saw Marley on vocals and guitar joined by guitarists Junior Marvin and Al Anderson, bassist Aston Barrett, drummer Carlton Barrett, keyboardists Earl Lindo and Tyrone Downie and percussionist Alvin Patterson. Bob was also backed by vocalists The I-Threes consisting of Marcia Griffiths, Rita Marley and Judy Mowatt.
