Concert season kicked off in Atlantic City over the weekend with the inaugural Adjacent Music Festival.
Capitalizing on the early 2000s nostalgia that propelled pop-punk fest When We Were Young, the first-year fest hosted several pop-punk throwbacks on the beach adjacent to the Atlantic City boardwalk, including the recently reunited Blink-182 and Paramore, as well as heavier acts like Coheed and Cambria and Turnstile, and indie darlings Bleachers, Japanese Breakfast, and The Linda Lindas.
Saturday kicked off with sets by Drug Church, The Linda Lindas, Meet Me At The Altar, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Jimmy Eat World, and Bleachers before culminating with Paramore’s headlining set. Sunday began with sets by Japanese Breakfast, Motion City Soundtrack, Coheed, Turnstile, and Beach Weather, plus a headlining set from Blink-182 to cap off the weekend.
The festival also featured performances by The Starting Line, Mannequin Pussy, Thursday, Folly, The Front Bottoms, L.S. Dunes, The Happy Fits, PUP, Beach Bunny, Electric Callboy, Hot Milk, I Am The Avalanche, Knocked Loose, Loveless, Neil Rubenstein, Oxymorrons, Pinkshift, Royal & The Serpent, Scowl, Siiickbrain, Waterparks, and Zulu.
