Dave Matthews Band Takes A ‘Walk Around The Moon’ With New Title Track Single

Dave Matthews Band shared the title track to their new album, Walk Around The Moon. The LP is due out this Friday, May 19 via RCA Records.

Walk Around The Moon marks DMB’s 10th studio album and first in five years following 2018’s Come Tomorrow. The group detailed the new record in January and shared the lead single, “Madman’s Eyes” along with their 2023 tour plans (see below).

The band’s 2023 itinerary began with a recent stint in Mexico where they debuted the Walk Around The Moon tracks “Looking For A Vein,” “It Could Happen” and “All You Ever Wanted Was Tomorrow”. DMB continues their North American Tour on Friday in the U.S.

Returning to the studio rollout, Dave Matthews Band followed “Madman’s Eyes” with “Monsters” (which was played by the full band for the first time in Mexico) and now “Walk Around The Moon.” DMB debuted the title and opening track on their new album on July 21, 2021 at Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh, North Carolina during their first concert in 510 days following the pandemic pause.

“This song is about taking a walk in the woods with unexpected consequences,” Dave told the Raleigh audience ahead of the debut.

“The psychedelic slow-burner sees Matthews playfully recount a fungus-filled adventure blurring the lines between reality and a dreamlike state,” as per press materials for the new single. “The song’s catchy lyrics echo, ‘It’s blue, and it’s red / Found a new door inside of my head / How could I go to bed / Think I’ll walk around the moon instead.’”
