While the second law of thermodynamics states that energy tends to degenerate into a more disorganized state, a new electronic jam band 2ŁØT seeks to bring order with its first-ever single, “Shot in the Dark”.
Awash in the conventions of EDM music, 2ŁØT is a fusion of elements worthy of a chemistry laboratory. Keyboardist/singer Rudy Love Jr.‘s heartfelt lyricism guides the energetic voyage that bridges synth-heavy production with live instrumentation. Looking past the diversity of influences, Love’s lyrics unite the song with a deeply personal message that resonates across genre boundaries and connects to the band’s mission of driving social change through music.
“This last year has been hell for me and many of my fellow band members — one full of loss and personal challenges,” Love said. “The only thing that you can do with grief and trials is to go through it. You have to experience all of those feelings: the pain, the loss, it’s all a part of this. Just keep going, don’t give up, because on the other side of it is something beautiful. I promise.”

Named for the second law of thermodynamics, 2ŁØT has set out to prove that it is possible to unite this seemingly disorganized field of existence. “Shot in the Dark” asserts itself as an anthem of perseverance with the lyric “I’m gonna take one more shot in the dark / From mine to your heart.”
“The song is about getting the opportunities I’ve been given to serve my purpose in life, attempting to take control of my bad habits and vices, and using that energy for something more,” Love added. “Sometimes you fail, but you just have to get back up.”
