The Soul Rebels featuring Rakim & Talib Kweli, Jennifer Hartswick & Nick Cassarino, Marcus Miller and Durand Jones are among the artists added to the already stacked Newport Jazz Festival 2023 lineup. The legendary event returns to the idyllic Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island August 4 – 6.
Also revealed as part of the lineup additions are Dave Holland New Quartet, Adi Oasis, Derek Hodge, Angel Bat Dawid & Tha Brothahood, Bobby Watson All-Star Quintet, Claudia Acuna and more. Additionally, organizers will present a tribute to the late Louis Armstong dubbed “Armstrong Now: Louis at Newport.
The newly confirmed artists join previously announced performers Thundercat, Jon Batiste, Vijay Iyer, Herbie Hancock, Diana Krall, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead with Kamasi Washington, DJ Pee .Wee (Anderson .Paak), Soulive, Big Gigantic Does Jazz, Christian McBride’s Jam Jawn and many others.
