Dave Matthews Band closed out a three-show sweep through Mexico that opens their 2023 Summer Tour with a concert in Guadalajara, Mexico on Saturday. The show at Teatro Diana featured the live debuts of Walk Around The Moon cuts “It Could Happen” and “All You Ever Wanted Was Tomorrow” ahead of the studio album’s release this Friday, May 19.
Walk Around The Moon, Dave Matthews Band’s 10th studio album and first since 2018’s Come Tomorrow, consists of 12 tracks. While seven were played live before the LP was announced last January, two were trotted out last week in Mexico City. Now that “It Could Happen” and “All You Ever Wanted Was Tomorrow” have been played, “After Everything” is the only track off Walk Around The Moon yet to be performed live.
Dave Matthews Band busted out “Bismarck” in Mexico City after nearly seven years on the shelf. On Saturday, the unreleased song penned by frontman Dave Matthews appeared in the opener slot for the first time since May 24, 2016 as pointed out by DMB Almanac. “When The World Ends” came next along with the tour debut of “Stay Or Leave.” The oft-paired “Pantala Naga Pampa”/”Rapunzel” followed before the first live “It Could Happen” gave way to fellow Walk Around The Moon cut “Madman’s Eyes.”
Matthews made “small talk” as he prepared himself for the premiere, telling fans they’d never played “It Could Happen” before so if they get it wrong no one would be any the wiser. He then shared the following to intro the tune:
“This is a song about how crazy it is that from all the different places that we came and all our different experiences and the fact that we ended up getting born at all in this weird little planet and we all ended up in this room together. It’s highly unlikely. I specifically wrote it about today. It’s a premonition.”

The rest of DMB’s main set in Guadalajara included tour debuts of “Lover Lay Down” and the beloved triumvarate “So Much To Say”/”Anyone Seen The Bridge”/”Too Much” along with “Monsters” from Walk Around The Moon and plenty of classics such as “#41,” “Don’t Drink The Water,” “Crush” and “Grey Street.”
Dave Matthews Band came back for the encore with the frontman thanking the crowd for their reaction. “I hope you like this song. This is a new song,” Matthews told the audience. He then lit into “All You Ever Wanted Was Tomorrow” for the first time. His bandmates fell in line on the breezy intro. The new song built in energy to a raucuous tune featuring back-and-forth soloing courtesy of trumpeter Rashawn Ross and saxphonist Jeff Coffin. Fan-favorite “Warehouse” began at the final note of “All You Ever Wanted Was Tomorrow” and brought the run through Mexico to a close.
