Bruce Hornsby‘s landmark 1998 album Spirit Trail turns 25 this year. In September, Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers will launch a fall tour honoring the occasion with a Spirit Trail: 25th Anniversary Edition boxed set in the works as well.

Spirit Trail is Hornsby’s sixth studio album. The 20-track double record includes a number of songs that have become staples of the pianist’s live shows including “King Of The Hill,” “Great Divide,” “Sunflower Cat (Some Dour Cat) (Down With That)” and “Fortunate Son.”

The celebratory tour starts in Charleston, South Carolina on September 6. Hornsby and his longtime band will then appear at Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion on the same weekend they will play Lexington, Kentucky on September 9. Next up are headlining shows in Evansville, Indiana on September 12, Marietta, Ohio (at a venue TBA) on September 14, Detroit on September 16 and Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 17.

Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers bring the Spirit Trail 25th Anniversary Tour to Ithaca, New York on September 19. Additional Northeast dates follow in New London, Connecticut on September 21, Beverly, Massachusetts on September 22 and Camden, New Jersey on September 24. Look for more shows and details of the boxed set to be announced soon.
