Dead & Company Final Tour Charity Auctions Already Surpassed $1 Million Mark

Dead & Company’s memorabilia auctions for their current tour have topped the $1 million mark. The band’s charitable endeavors on their Final Tour mark the most lucrative auction series in D&C’s eight-year history with eight shows still remaining on the band’s Final Tour at the time of writing.

Dead & Company have achieved this milestone through a variety of auctions organized and benefitting HeadCount as well as environmental group REVERB and over a dozen other “Dead Family” non-profits handpicked by the band. Among those charitable relationships is Bob Weir’s partnership with D’Angelico guitars.

This year, a D’Angelico guitar featuring artwork from renowned poster artist AJ Masthay, played by Bobby at Chicago’s historic Wrigley Field and signed by the band has attracted a bid of $128,000. Bidding will continue until the final set of the tour finale in San Francisco on July 16th. The Wrigley Field guitar is not the only D’Angelico being auctioned with more guitars designed by Masthay, tailored to tour stops like Citi Field, Saratoga Springs and more up on the block.

Additionally, artwork created and donated by Mickey Hart has raised nearly $220,000. More signed guitars, drumheads, posters and art will be auctioned at upcoming stops at Boulder’s Folsom Field, Washington’s The Gorge and San Francisco’s Oracle Park. Fans can find the additional items for auction at “Participation Row,” the charity social action village that has traveled with Dead & Company since the band’s founding in 2015, raising nearly $4 million for charitable causes since its inception.

Finally, if you’ve purchased a ticket to any Dead & Company show, you’ve already donated as the band pays forward $2 of each ticket sold to their charitable causes.
