Duane Betts To Host Inaugural Horseshoe Music Festival In Wyoming

57

Duane Betts and his wife, artist and designer Lisa Hadley Betts, have announced a new three-day “boutique” music festival, Horseshoe Music Festival, celebrating Americana music, the Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers Band, the blues, and music from New Orleans.

Set for Labor Day weekend, September 1st–3rd at The Virginian Lodge resort in Jackson Hole, WY, Horseshoe Music Festival will dedicate each day to a particular theme. September 1st will celebrate “Americana,” inspired by traditional American music; September 2nd’s theme will be “Skulls & Peaches,” inspired by the Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers Band; and September 3rd’s theme, “Blue New Orleans,” will recognize the traditions of the blues and music from New Orleans.

Duane Betts will host the festival in addition to headlining with his band Palmetto Motel. The festival will also feature supergroup collaborations led by Jimmy Vivino (Late Night with Conan O’Brien) featuring Goose‘s Jeffery Arevalo (drums and percussion), his brother Pedro Arevalo (bass/vocals), John Ginty (keys), Johnny Stachela (slide guitar), Lamar Williams Jr. (bass), Alex “Orbi” Orbison (drums and percussion), and soon-to-be-announced special guests, plus art, food, fashion, yoga and other wellness offerings curated by Lisa Hadley Betts.

A flea market will take place throughout the festival with vintage and artisan-made clothing. A portion of all proceeds will be donated in support of local causes The Community Housing Trust and The Snake River Fund. After-parties will be held each night in the resort ballroom.

Blind faith tickets for the inaugural Horseshoe Music Festival, including VIP packages, are on sale now. Go to the festival website for more information and tickets, and stay tuned for updates.

Duane Betts’ debut solo album, Wild & Precious Life, is due out July 14th. Scroll down to check out the latest single, “Saints To Sinners” below, and click here to listen to “Stare At The Sun” featuring fellow Allman Brothers kin Derek Trucks.
