GRiZ Plots Three-Day ‘Ursa Major’ Event In Arizona, His Final Curated Gathering Ahead Of Coming Hiatus

27

GRiZ has announced the details for a new boutique curated event in Arizona billed as Ursa Major. Due to take place at Flagstaff, AZ’s Pepsi Amphitheater on September 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, the event will mark the final GRiZ-curated event ahead of the DJ/producer/saxophonist’s coming hiatus.

GRiZ, real name Grant Kwiecinski,  hinted at the Ursa Major announcement earlier this week when he revealed that he “will be taking a good amount of time off from touring and the GRiZ project” beginning in October. While he noted in that update that there will be no GRiZMASSpace Camp, or New Year’s Eve show this year, he did indicate that one more GRiZ-curated event would take place before his break. “It’s an intimate venue in a beautiful location and I’m really excited for it,” he said. “It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I think we nailed it w this one!”

Ursa Major, touted as an “intimate experience” for GRiZ’s devoted fanbase, will feature three headlining performances by the host DJ, with each night catered to a different “flavor” of his stylistically varied catalog. The rest of the lineup features a diverse mix of acts intended to set the tone for each day, including Black Carl!, Daily Bread, Freddy Todd, INZO, Justin Jay, Luzid, McWavy, Motifv, Never Dull, Of The Trees, Opiuo, Parkbreezy b2b Thought Process, Prob & Chrishira Live Band, SunSquabi, and Zen Selekta.

A pre-sale for 3-day passes and camping accommodations for GRiZ’s upcoming Ursa Major event will be available starting Monday, June 12th at 10:00 a.m. PT. Remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Wednesday, June 14th at 10:00 a.m. PT. Sign up for pre-sale access here.

GRiZ still has plenty to keep him and his fans busy between now and October. His schedule consists almost entirely of festival appearances, including a doubleheader at Bonnaroo, where he tacked on an additional “Chasing the Golden Hour” set on Saturday, June 17th in the slot vacated by Rainbow Kitten Surprise. The sunset performance comes in addition to his previously announced set on Friday, June 16th.

Other festival dates on GRiZ’s remaining tour schedule include Breakaway, Shambala, Moonrise, Secret Dreams, Bass Canyon, and more. GRiZ will also host GRiZMAS In July on July 28th in Wilmington, NC. As of now, his final scheduled performance is at Same Same But Different in Lake Perris, CA the weekend of September 28th–October 1st (exact date not yet confirmed).
