See Paramore’s Hayley Williams Join Foo Fighters For Spirited ‘My Hero’ At Bonnaroo

51

Foo Fighters headlined Bonnaroo on Sunday. The rockers welcomed Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams for a Foo classic a little over halfway through their 19-song slot.

Foo Fighters stuck close to the setlist they’ve been utilizing in 2023 for their festival set, opening with “All My Life” from Dave Grohl and company’s 2002 album, One by One. “No Son Of Mine” off the band’s 2021 LP Medicine At Midnight album saw the band doing their usual nod to metal lords Black Sabbath and Metallica with snippets of “Enter Sandman” and “Paranoid” respectively.

Foo then turned to material from their latest and first record since the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, But Here We Are, with “Rescued.” After favorites like “The Pretender,” “Learn To Fly” and “Times Like These,” the band returned to But Here We Are with “Under You.”

Following FF’s band intro medley featuring Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage,” Devo’s “Whip It,” Nine Inch Nails’ “March Of The Pigs” and Michael Bublé’s “Haven’t Met You Yet,” Foo Fighters brought out Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams for “My Hero.” Williams contributed to an energetic performance of The Colour and Shape classic.

Dave’s daughter Violet Grohl also joined the band for Medicine At Midnight’s “Shame Shame” and But Here We Are’s “Show Me How.” Violet contributed to the studio version of the latter. “Aurora” was dedicated to Hawkins before Foo Fighters closed out the Bonnaroo headline set with their classic closer “Everlong.”
