Modern-day bluesman Shakey Graves and his band The Problem played a three-night run of Colorado shows with support from Neal Francis and Katie Pruitt that culminated in a weather-delayed, twice-evacuated show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Following a freak hailstorm that left attendees of Louis Tomlinson‘s Red Rocks concert traumatized if not hospitalized on Wednesday, inclement weather once again threatened a concert at the venue on Thursday. Red Rocks alerted fans around 3 p.m. that the show’s start time was delayed, which drew criticism on social media from many people who thought the show should be canceled altogether after what happened on Wednesday since the weather conditions were similar. Once underway, the show was stopped and the venue evacuated not once but twice due to severe storms.

Those who stuck it out were eventually rewarded, as the show must and did in fact go on with opening sets from Nashville folk darling Katie Pruitt and soul rocker Neal Francis, who brought a horn section along for the occasion, followed by an unforgettable torrent of rain and sound from Shakey Graves & The Problem.

“Playing at Red Rocks is always an unforgettable experience but this years show was a true force of nature,” Shakey Graves reflected in a social media post after the show. “Two evacuations due to weather, wet gear, high hopes, long hours, big heart. … It was all a true honor.”

Fans commented calling the show “unforgettable and so worth the struggle,” with one summarizing the night as “such a roller coaster but so worth it, fucking incredible show.”
