The Miracle In Mundelein, a new two-day festival celebrating cannabis, music, and art, is set to debut as the first Illinois concert to permit onsite cannabis consumption with a stacked, multi-genre lineup featuring Cypress Hill, Action Bronson, Lettuce, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, and more.
Set for Saturday, September 9th–Sunday, September 10th, 2023 in Mundelein, IL near Chicago (in the lot across from RISE Mundelein), the inaugural The Miracle will present a carefully curated mix of 420-friendly music ranging from hip-hop and reggae to funk and jam. Presented by RYTHM Premium Cannabis, Sacred Rose, and Dayglo Presents, the 21+ festival will also offer plus singular non-musical experiences such as a dab bar, cannabis beverage garden, joint rolling, chilled bongs, and more. Cannabis sales will not be permitted onsite, but patrons can conveniently purchase cannabis products across the street at Green Thumb dispensary. (All cannabis products brought into the festival must be sealed.)
“Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of producing many live music events, but this is truly a first,” said Peter Shapiro, founder of Dayglo Presents. “The Miracle in Mundelein is more than just a concert, it is a testament to the relationship that music and legal cannabis can have when brought together in the right way. We named the event, The Miracle, because it really is remarkable that we can now bring cannabis and music together in 2023, and it is permitted and legal. Our goal is to create a new type of event, which showcases the uplifting impact of cannabis in a legal environment, while also supporting and growing a real community.”
“It is no surprise there is a rich and deep history between music and cannabis,” added Ben Kovler, CEO of Green Thumb Industries. “We believe that the two together can create more connectivity, positivity, and well-being. The Miracle is our way of celebrating this unique intersection — with amazing music, high-quality weed, and a welcoming community. We are excited to put on an incredible show while providing a safe, legal space for cannabis consumption for everyone 21 and over.”
On Saturday, September 9th, The Miracle will present a lineup of hip-hop, reggae, and EDM including Cypress Hill, Action Bronson, Stephen Marley, and DJ Papa G. Then on Friday the 10th, JRAD tops a funk- and jam-focused bill with Lettuce, Karina Rykman, and DJ Mitch Please taking it home.
Pre-sale registration for tickets to The Miracle is now open. General admission tickets will go on sale on Thursday, June 8th. Click below to view the lineup and daily schedules, and for more information and ticketing details, visit the event website.
The announcement of The Miracle comes less than a month after organizers for Sacred Rose revealed that the festival will go on hiatus in 2023. In place of the genre-fluid multi-day event, which debuted last year at SeatGeek Stadium in nearby Bridgeview, organizers promised “like minded” and “SR-adjacent” events throughout the Chicago area, of which The Miracle is the first.
