Lyle Divinsky and Jennifer Hartswick recently captured an impromptu collaboration on John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery” while in Croatia. The stunning performance is made all the more beautiful by the sun setting over the Adriatic sea behind the musicians.
“Lyle and I were in Croatia as a part of an entrepreneurial event on the island of Obanjan and decided to stay an extra week and do some exploring,” Hartswick told Live For Live Music. As L4LM reported, Jen and Lyle performed with Nick Cassarino, Nikki Glaspie, Dane Farnsworth, Eric Vogel and Zach Velmer at an event hosted by the Baby Bathwater Institute. Hartswick and Divinsky’s adventures then took them to the ancient Croatian seafront city of Pula.
“While we were in Pula,” Lyle noted, “our Airbnb had this perfect west-facing patio overlooking the Adriatic Sea, so we naturally had to make some music.” The result was a gorgeous rendition of “Angel From Montgomery,” which Divinsky shared via his Instagram account. Watch below:

Both Hartswick and Divinsky have been busy with solo projects and beyond. Lyle shared his first single since leaving The Motet, “Falling By The Wayside,” earlier this year heralding his ambitious four-part Seasons project which has been unfolding throughout 2023. JHa put out her album Something In The Water in September 2022 and will also appear at JamBase’s upcoming 25th anniversary celebration at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, Massachusetts in August.
