Willie Nelson will revisit some of his most iconic songs on his first-ever bluegrass album and 99th studio album, simply titled Bluegrass.
Due out September 15th, Bluegrass features a dozen songs selected by Willie and longtime producer Buddy Cannon including “On the Road Again”, “Sad Songs And Waltzes”, “Good Hearted Woman”, “Bloody Mary Morning”, and more. Willie taps a band of bluegrass ringers to bring new life to these beloved compositions while paying homage to the Appalachian string band music that helped shape his songwriting and the sound of country music more broadly. Willie’s strong melodies and memorable storylines lend themselves beautifully to the traditional bluegrass format, with its emphasis on storytelling and instrumental interplay.
