More Enormous Cowbell: Watch moe. & Umphrey’s McGee Cover ‘(Don’t Fear) The Reaper’ At Summer Camp

Summer Camp Music Festival released pro-shot video of Umphrey’s McGee and moe.‘s team up on “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper.” The bands collaborated on the Blue Oyster Cult classic during their joint Summer Camp set at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois.

Summer Camp 2023 marked the final time the beloved and long-running festival will take place in its current form. As such, host bands moe. and Umphrey’s McGee pulled out all the stops for their traditional collaborative set which came on Saturday, May 27.

moe. and Umphrey’s McGee ended the collaborative set with three classic rock covers featuring each member of both bands. First up was Talking Heads’ “Crosseyed & Painless” followed by “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” with Mike Dillon and Goose drummer Ben Atkind adding to the Blue Oyster Cult cover. A giant cowbell was setup which moe. bassist Rob Derhak took a swing at with an oversized drum stick.
