The Motet announced Sarah Clarke as their new frontwoman and shared 2023 Fall Tour dates. Following a few summer stops and September festival appearances, the extensive autumn trek gets underway on September 20 and stretches into December.

Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Sarah Clarke’s powerful and dynamic vocals have fronted a number of bands including San Francisco-based Con Brio, Dirty Revival and Portland’s own Outer Orbit. She also recently appeared at Red Rocks with Portugal. The Man.

“We are incredibly excited to have Sarah a part of our team,” Motet drummer and founder Dave Watts stated. “She’s hands down the most creative and collaborative singer we have ever worked with and her enthusiasm, excitement and energy on stage is inspiring us to new levels of performance. She completes our sound in ways we never would have imagined and we can’t wait for the world to witness!”

Sarah also spoke about her new gig:

“The Motet has been one of my favorite bands since I started performing and had the opportunity to see them live at 4 Peaks Music Fest in 2015. Over the years I opened for them a handful of times with my previous project, Dirty Revival. Every time I would walk away being pretty awe inspired by their musicianship and artistry, as a unit and as individual players…Being given an opportunity to perform with them has been a little surreal, honestly.

“Musically, we are a great fit, I feel pushed to perform at the top of my game because I know they are going to bring it every night. Interpersonally, we gel wonderfully and it’s been a true pleasure to get to know them. I am so excited to see where this goes and beyond grateful for the opportunity.”

Clarke will join The Motet beginning on August 4 for their performance at Rhythms On The Rio in Del Norte, Colorado. On August 24, The Motet have a free show at the Santa Fe Railyard ahead of September festival plays at Fire Lights (Sherman, New York) and Wormtown Music Festival (Greenfield, Massachusetts).

The Motet kick off their fall tour proper on September 20 at Virginia Beach, Virginia’s Elevation 27 followed by an additional Virginia concert in Roanoke. The funk outfit comes to High Point, North Carolina on September 21 ahead of a spot at Subterranean Festival at Tennessee’s world-famous The Caverns.

After a quick jump out to Southern California for a slot at the Same Same But Different Festival, The Motet will return to Virginia for a concert in Leesburg on October 5. The band will then hit the Ramble Festival in Darlington, Maryland on October 6.

The Motet launch a Northeastern run on October 7 at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey followed by stops in Albany (New York), Rutherford (New Jersey), Pawling (New York) and Hampton Beach (New Hampshire). The Northeast stint will wrap in Portland, Maine on October 14.

The Motet will then return to their native Colorado for their traditional Halloween Weekend festivities which will see the band performing in Fort Collins (October 27), Boulder (October 28) and 10 Mile Music Hall in Frisco, Colorado on Halloween.

They then head back out on the road in November beginning with a show in Kansas City on November 8. Additional Midwest dates include Peoria (Illinois), Chicago, Minneapolis and Omaha (Nebraska).

Following the Thanksgiving break, The Motet get back to it in Fayetteville, Arkansas on November 29 ahead of a show in Oklahoma City to close out November. The Motet will conclude their fall tour with a run through Texas getting underway in Dallas on December 1. The band will then hit Austin before wrapping up at Houston’s Last Concert Cafe on December 3.

Following select presales, tickets for The Motet’s 2023 Fall Tour go on sale Friday, July 28 at 10 a.m. local time.
