Watch Widespread Panic Play New Original ‘Tackle Box Hero’ At 2023 Red Rocks Run

Widespread Panic shared pro-shot video of their new original “Tackle Box Hero.” The footage is from the band’s Saturday, June 24 concert — the second show of their annual three-night stand at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Panic unveiled “Tackle Box Hero” on January 17, 2023 during their Panic En La Playa destination event at the Hard Rock Hotel And Casino in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The sextet performed the song two more times ahead of the Red Rocks play, making it the fourth all-time, as per Everyday Companion.

Keyboardist JoJo Hermann led the band through “Tackle Box Hero” as a standalone about halfway through their second set at Red Rocks on June 24. The new song sees frontman John Bell adding harmony vocals as well as slide guitar and boasts a triumphant riff from lead guitarist Jimmy Herring which opens the song and crops up throughout. At Red Rocks, a brief outro jam contained some slick interplay between JoJo on piano, JB on slide and Herring utilizing tapping techniques.
