Bajaja Music Fest will make its debut this winter at Amaya in Baja California Sur, Mexico with a well-rounded lineup topped by ALO, The New Mastersounds, John Medeski, DJ Logic & Friends featuring Eddie Roberts, Reed Mathis, Datrian Johnson, and special guests, and more.

Set for November 30th–December 2nd, Bajaja will feature 8+ hours of music per day, including The New Mastersounds’ first North American gig since the pandemic and the band’s only North American date of 2023. In addition to the headliners, the lineup will feature indie-folk singer Rainy Eyes, alt-rockers Big Light, soul and R&B vocalist Destani Wolf, Latin fusion groups Los Daturas and Los Hijos Del Tropico, flamenco ensemble Alebrije Flamenco, gypsy jazz band Mala Rumba, and reggae legends The Viceroys. Each night will also feature unique collaborations.

The boutique festival is designed to be safe, easy, and fun for solo travelers, couples, groups, and families alike, promising an intimate experience like no other, with fewer boundaries between attendees and artists. “Everyone invited to the Bajaja is a VIP!” Said organizer and JamBase co-founder Ted Kartzman. “We will cap tickets in the low hundreds, and our vision is everyone will feel like family by the end of the weekend.”

“What’s better than your favorite bands, on a beach in Mexico, with a small audience of like-minded people? That’s what’s going on in Baja this winter!” The New Mastersounds guitarist Eddie Roberts added. “After 2 years separated by an ocean, the NMS will play their first shows on the American continent since January 2020 and we hope to see friends and fans new and old there!”

Bajaja attendees will also be able to enjoy daytime activities and recreation options including surfing, boogie boarding with kids, and fishing, plus excursions like horseback riding in the sand, snorkeling in crystal blue ocean waters, riding dune buggies in the desert, or exploring the 1700s-style Spanish colonial towns and local communities

“I’ve been dreaming of getting artists we love booked into unique, tropical locations for years,” said JamBase’s original editor-in-chief and industry veteran Aaron Kayce, who produced the event alongside Kartzman, Chris Joseph, and the team at Amaya. “I truly believe this is the future of destination events, where you can immerse yourself in the culture of the places we all want to visit and see our favorite bands at night. For me this is a dream come true, and I know from talking with the artists we are booking that it’s a dream come true for them as well. These are the experiences we long to create—not just a concert, not just a vacation, the best of both worlds. And I believe anyone who is lucky enough to be at Bajaja will agree that this really is a dream come true. See y’all on the beach!”

Tickets for Bajaja Music Fest are on sale now, with prices set to increase on August 16th. Note that lodging is not included, but the festival has compiled a number of options for nearby accommodations, with shuttle service to the festival available for $50 per person per day.
