Blues Traveler Offers First Preview Of New Album With Curtis Mayfield Cover, “Fool For You” [Listen]

Blues Traveler has shared the first preview of the band’s upcoming 15th full-length album, Traveler’s Soul, with “Fool For You”, a song originally written by Curtis Mayfield and popularized by his group The Impressions in 1968. The classic soul tune takes on a new vibe with the bluesy grit of John Popper‘s wailing harmonica and smooth vocals.

“It’s actually got a unique time signature,” said guitarist Chan Kinchla. “The instrumentation we use is different from what’s on the original recording, but it has a modern vibe. It was strangely tricky and definitely a great challenge. We just love the way it turned out.”
