JamBase’s 25th Anniversary Quadranscentennial Silver Jubilee is coming up fast featuring four nights of live music in the Boston area. JamBase is thrilled to have Jennifer Hartswick on board for three of the four JB25 lineups.

Having Jennifer Hartswick be part of JamBase’s 25th anniversary celebration continues a longstanding admiration for the talented trumpet player and vocalist. The JHa + JB connection runs deep and we’re thrilled to have her play such a substantial role in our upcoming party.

JamBase’s 25th Anniversary weekend of live music kicks off on Thursday, August 17 with the BT ALC Big Band, who will be joined by Hartswick at Sally O’Brien’s in Somerville. Tickets for the Thursday night kickoff will be available exclusively at the door.

For a taste of Hartswick performing with an ensemble, watch her contribute to the Grateful Dead’s “Bertha” with Incidental Animals. The cover was performed as part of JamBase’s Songs Of Their Own series celebrating the Grateful Dead’s 50th anniversary in 2015, watch below:

JamBase’s 25th celebration includes a show on Friday, August 18 with local favorites Club d’Elf at Boston Harbor Distillery, which now features a set by Jennifer Hartswick and Nick Cassarino.

Jennifer and Nick were part of JamBase’s Gimme Shelter In Place series during the COVID-19 pandemic. The series launched in response to live music being shut down for many months. The archival footage was recorded at Cellarmaker Brewing in San Francisco on a magical afternoon when the brewery was closed to the public. The intimate performance and delicious brews made for a wonderful afternoon in SF. Come out to Boston Harbor Distillery for a similar experience!

Following Friday’s Club d’Elf concert with Hartswick and Cassarino, the party moves to down to the South Shore at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke. The Saturday, August 19 triple-header at Soundcheck Studios will get going with an opening set from pianist Holly Bowling and a performance by guitarist Ron Artis II. Headlining that evening will be the Jennifer Hartswick Band. Click here for tickets.

While not her band exactly, a sample of Jennifer showing off her bandleader chops can be seen in footage from JamBase’s 20th anniversary party when she and Cassarino sat-in with Strangefolk. The collaboration resulted in a glorious cover of John Prine’s beloved “Angel From Montgomery” that Jennifer made her own. Watch the captivating performance below:

JHa was among the first musicians JamBase reached out to for the Cluster Flies covers compilation reimagining Phish’s album Farmhouse.

The only artist to appear on both Farmhouse and Cluster Flies, Hartswick led an impressive group of musicians through a cover of Phish’s “Dirt.” Hartswick, who is a member of the Trey Anastasio Band, was joined by renowned bassist Christian McBride, fellow TAB member, trombonist Natalie Cressman, Star Kitchen keyboardist Rob Marscher and The Nth Power drummer Nikki Glaspie and guitarist Nick Cassarino.

A sold-out Umphrey’s McGee concert at Soundcheck on Sunday, August 20 rounds out JamBase’s 25th Anniversary Quadranscentennial Silver Jubilee. Tickets remain for the other three celebratory concerts.
