Joe Walsh will bring his VetsAid charity concert back on November 12th, 2023 for its seventh-annual installment. The first-ever outdoor VetsAid will take in the sunshine in Chula Vista, CA with a lineup topped by Jeff Lyne’s ELOThe War On DrugsThe Flaming LipsLucius, special guest Stephen Stills, and a set from Walsh.

The day-long marathon concert is headed for the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre, a 20,500-seat venue in the San Diego area. VetsAid will mark the first live performance by Jeff Lyne’s ELO in four years, while Stephen Stills’ role as a “special guest” is up for interpretation. If his participation at all resembles Dave Grohl‘s “special guest” spot from 2022, when he sat in with Walsh, James Gang, and The Breeders, fans can expect plenty of collaboration.

“VetsAid is back for 2023 and we’re taking it outside in beautiful San Diego to support California’s veteran population,” Walsh said in a press release. “My good buddy Jeff is bringing the ELO experience for their first show since 2019. The War on Drugs is one of my favorite bands out there doing it and I’m thrilled to be able to welcome them. The Flaming Lips are a perpetual joy machine that will dazzle our audience; if you know, you know and if you don’t – you will! Lucius are two spectacular vocal artists and songwriters that will take your breath away. And to top it all off we have my dear friend and hero Stephen Stills joining as a special guest. My friends and I will see you under the stars this November 12th!”

Tickets for the 2023 edition of VetsAid go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster. Launched by the Eagle in 2017, the annual benefit concert supports his charity of the same name devoted to aiding U.S. veterans, which has to date given over $3,000,000 in grants. Each year, the concert travels to a new city with a large veteran population, with proceeds going toward servicemembers in that area. The 2022 edition in Walsh’s one-time home of Columbus, OH was devoted entirely to Buckeye State musicians, including a reunion of Walsh’s James Gang and sets by Nine Inch NailsThe Black Keys, and The Breeders with sit-ins by Dave Grohl throughout.
