Shine Music Festival, the world’s largest universally-designed music festival, will return to Denver later this month with state-of-the-art adaptive technology to make the event comprehensively accessible and truly inclusive for people of all abilities. Now in its third year, the one-day fest is set to take place at a new venue, Reelworks Denver, on August 26th with headliners SunSquabi and Neal Evans Fro Down featuring Neal Evans (Dopapod), Dan Africano (Thievery Corp), Felix Pastorius, Harry Waters, Enmanuel Alexander, Nick Gerlach, and Greg Harris (Vibe Quintet).

“Music has the unique power to bring people of all abilities together, fostering a sense of community and shared experience. When the energy of a live performance intermingles with the energy of the crowd, a magical bubble of inclusivity, celebration, and joy envelops us all. Yet, for too many individuals, these transformative experiences remain out of reach due to inadequate accessibility laws and practices,” said festival organizers Shine Music.

“At Shine Music, we believe that everyone deserves to experience the magic of live music, and we are committed to breaking down barriers and creating a truly inclusive and accessible musical community for all.”

Some of the impressive features to increase accessibility at the fest include Full Body Sound, which translates the music from the soundboard into tactile audio stimulation; Feel the Beat’s bone conduction, vibrotactile dance floor, which allows users to feel sound through vibrational energy; Xrai Glass, the festival’s newest partner, which provides closed caption glasses and an app that allow deaf and hard of hearing guests to see captions regardless of where they are in the venue; and sensory zones by Autism Community and The Sensory Club for neurodivergent guests who may become over-stimulated. Shine Music Fest is also the only festival to offer braille event t-shirts, and the event is free to ensure nobody is left out due to financial barriers. Donations are encouraged.

In addition to headliners SunSquabi and Neal Evans Fro Down, the lineup is rounded out by 18 additional bands including Walden, Jeffrey Marshall, Green Chi, Tantok, Tropical Waffle, Desacore, Dooley, Bkellz, Josh.0, Krymsun, Cory Simmons, Willy K (Slidewok), Jonny Woods, Shauna Sweeney, Rocky Mountain Guy & Joe Bye Duo, Wanderin Pine, and Grant Livingston & Ben Maillaro (River Spell). Rocky Mountain Guy will serve as artist at large throughout the fest.

Tickets are not required for Shine Music Festival and admission is free. Patrons will be admitted up to capacity, so arrive early to guarantee admission. Attendees are encouraged to support the cause with an optional donation. For more information, visit the event website.
