The Rolling Stones continue their cryptic rollout of Hackney Diamonds, their first new studio album of original material since 2005, with the addition of a countdown clock to HackneyDiamonds.com. The clock, which also appears on RollingStones.com, is counting down to 11:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday, September 6. It’s likely the legendary rockers will announce details of their long-awaited 26th studio album and share its lead single at that time.

The appearance of the countdown clock follows the band’s label placing an ad for a fake glass repair company in an east London newspaper. The ad for Hackney Diamonds included a phone number to call. A recording greeted callers that said “Welcome to Hackney Diamonds, specialists in glass repair. Don’t get angry, get it fixed.” Fans feel “Angry” is the name of the album’s lead single from not just the recording but also from the title’s inclusion in a list of 12 songs registered to the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers under the names of Jagger-Richards. “Angry,” “Depending On You” and “Get Close” were co-written by producer Andrew Watt.

Andrew Watt co-produced Hackney Diamonds with Don Was. The album is expected to feature both late drummer Charlie Watts‘ last recordings with the band and new drummer Steve Jordan‘s first recordings with the band. The Rolling Stones recruited a number of special guests to participate in the sessions that yielded the forthcoming LP. Former bassist Bill Wyman recorded with his old bandmates with others contributing to LP including Elton John as well as Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.

Images of The Rolling Stones’iconic lips logo have popped up in various locations around the world. The logos are a “weak glass” variation of the logo similiar to artist Paulina Almira’s purported Hackney Diamonds cover art. Those who signed up for more information at HackneyDiamonds.com received an email with the same message of “Don’t get angry, get it fixed” on the answering machine as well as a note indicating, “OPENING EARLY SEPTEMBER 2023. MARE STREET LONDON E8.” Mare Street in Hackey township just outside London has a venue that could host a presss conference.

Fans will find out just what’s in store when the countdown clock reaches its target of 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
